Fusion Welded Vinyl Windows in Austin, TX

What are Fusion Welded Vinyl Windows?

To be durable and energy efficient, vinyl windows need sashes and frames which can resist the outside elements. That’s why we only make fusion welded vinyl windows with frame and sash corners joined by heat to create permanent seams. Fusion welding is a more secure way to create corners than mechanical attachment with screws, other fasteners, or caulk. As a result, many Austin homeowners invest in our fusion welded vinyl windows to reduce utility costs and increase residential value.

More Reasons Why Fusion Welding Beats Mechanical Attachment

Mechanically Joined Corners will Ultimately Leak & Fail
While it’s less expensive to mechanically join corners with screws, they just won’t produce a strong or reliable window. This is because screwed together corners are not permanently bonded and thus susceptible to leaks and infiltration. Over time they allow air and moisture to seep in and will ultimately fail. Please be aware that most cheaply made “new construction” or discount vinyl windows have mechanical corners.
Aluminum Window Mechanical Corners make Wood Sills Rot
In particular, be wary of aluminum windows which always have mechanically attached frames. We routinely see a significant amount of wood rot underneath them. This type of water damage originates at window bottoms when the corner seams start to fail. Water then seeps through the seams and ponds on the wooden sill below. With a place for water to sit on the wood frame, rot and mold will follow. On top of this, aluminum windows transfer more heat through the window opening. For these reasons aluminum windows with mechanically attached corners are not a good replacement window choice for Austin homes.
Our Fusion Welded Corners have Airtight, Waterproof Seams
All Ringer Windows are fusion welded together to make permanently sealed seams. We accomplish this by using precise CNC machinery and extreme heat to create airtight, waterproof corners. This manufacturing step is critical to the overall durability and performance of our windows. So if you’re looking for the best made fusion welded vinyl windows please give us a call. We’re local and affordable with outstanding quality. That’s the Ringer Windows way!
