Continuing our Blog about new home building in Austin and Central Texas. In “Part 1: What Builders Offer… Builder-Grade Windows” I discuss builder windows in residential construction. Most builders offer cheap builder windows without any window upgrade options.
We revealed the first question builders, remodelers, and building supply companies ask us during discussions is “How much do your windows cost?” often with no questions regarding our window quality and energy efficiency.

At this point I’m sure you’re asking “How much will builder windows cost me?”
When we visit with most folks about replacement windows, they are completely fed-up with their terribly inefficient builder windows, broken components including springs & lock mechanisms, foggy, moldy, leaky, and/or sagging glass and windows that don’t properly open. Some homeowners begin by just replacing the glass but soon it becomes a domino effect where other windows fail and they begin the entire process all over again!
We have recently been to a couple of shows and people have shared with us that they have a relatively new homes (welcome to the Austin housing boom).
